You should feel safe here. If you don't, we want to know.
A welcoming community is only welcoming if there's accountability when someone steps outside the lines. AleaMeep ships with the tools for you to control your own experience, and a moderation team behind the scenes that takes reports seriously.

For emergencies, call local emergency services first
AleaMeep is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, facing a threat of physical harm, or witnessing a child safety incident or other crime, contact local emergency services or law enforcementright away. In the US, that's 911. In a mental-health crisis in the US, you can also call or text 988.
Our in-app tools below are for managing your AleaMeep experience and reporting platform behavior to our moderation team. They're not a substitute for emergency response.
Tools you control yourself
Block
One tap to block someone. They can't see your profile, your events, your activity. You don't see them in suggestions, search results, or attendee lists. Silent on their side — they get no notification.
Report
Report a profile, event, message, or image. Pick a reason (harassment, hate, scam, minor safety, other), add detail, send. Goes to our moderation queue — typically reviewed within a couple of business days.
Message requests
By default, only your connections can DM you. Messages from non-connections land in a separate request inbox you can review when you want — no notification anxiety.
Activity visibility toggle
One switch on Account → Safety. Off keeps your RSVPs, badges earned, and plays logged invisible to everyone. Your activity stops showing up in connections' feeds entirely.
What happens when you report someone
AleaMeep has a dedicated moderation team. Reports go through a queue with real accountability, not an algorithm.
- 1Your report enters the queue
Tagged with the reason you gave, plus context: who reported, who's the target, what's the content. You get a confirmation.
- 2A moderator reviews
Reads the report, the context, any history, and decides on an outcome — dismiss, content removed, warning issued, account action.
- 3Action is taken
Depending on the severity: a warning, a temporary restriction (can't message / can't RSVP / can't publish), a suspension (24h, 7d, 30d), or a permanent ban. The action is logged.
- 4The other party can appeal
If someone has account action taken against them, they can file a formal appeal from inside the app. A different moderator reviews. If the appeal is approved, the action is automatically reversed.
Report. Block. Manage who's muted.

Reports go to a real moderation queue. Pick a reason, add context, send.

Manage your block list anytime. Blocks are silent on their side — no notification.
Account states are explicit
No shadow bans. No throttling. If your account has any restriction on it, you see it plainly.
Everything works. The default state.
One specific capability blocked: messaging, RSVPing, or publishing events. Other features keep working.
Time-limited lockout. You see the suspension reason and countdown.
Permanent. Last resort. The appeal flow remains available.
Privacy basics
- Your location is never shared with other users beyond approximate distance (e.g. "1.2 mi").
- Your real name is never shown unless you put it in your profile. Display name + handle by default.
- Your date of birth is collected for 18+ verification only. Never displayed.
- You can delete your account from Account settings. Profile and personal data is removed; public actions (event hosting history) is anonymized.
- The activity-visibility toggle on Account → Safety opts you out of all activity feed visibility.
Real safety, real accountability.
Your account is yours. Your community deserves protection. We've built both.
